El Pedreo and the village of Frama are easy to find just off the main road between Ojedo and Cabezón de Liébana on the way to the Piedraslenguas pass (a wonderful spot for butterflies in summer), the main road from Potes to Palencia, the CA 184. Only about a 3km flat walk from Potes, Frama is a relatively large village with a fairly prosperous feel. Nearby is the village of Piasca with its simply ornate (if that's possible) Romanesque church. See the Google map at the bottom of this page for directions to Frama.
House Details
Down a lane from the main road a large gate leads you into El Pedreo's private entrance. El Pedreo is set in the large grounds of a private family house, the rambling, organic gardens of which are managed by Pepín who grows vegetables among the fruit trees and flowers. The garden is dotted with idiosyncratic oddities such as cork tied to posts to provide nesting possibilities for small birds (see slideshow below). The main house's swimming pool is shared with the visitors of El Pedreo.
The house has its own private parking and small garden with sun loungers and a barbecue. On the ground floor there's a well-equipped, light and airy kitchen with views down over the Bullón river and a comfortable lounge with TV and dining area. A spiral staircase leads upstairs to four bedrooms; two doubles, a twin and a single, and 2 bathrooms. If needed there's also a sofa-bed in a corner of the hallway which would be fine for children.
Daughter, Lydia, speaks a little English and the whole family are fluent in Spanish and French.
El Pedreo is available to rent all year and sleeps 7 comfortably.
