Potes, Liébana
Situation
The approach road to the village of Ubriezo takes you up a mountain through aged holm oak woods and over a coll to the village's secluded, idyllic setting. Ubriezo is in the Cabezón de Liébana valley, between Ojedo and the Piedraslenguas pass and about twenty minutes drive from Potes. The suberb, south-facing views look over valleys to the Cantabrian mountain range. Meadows and pasture surround the village for the grazing cows, sheep and goats and paths lead through leafy woods. Flowers and butterflies are in abundance here. Don't miss looking in the village water troughs for Marbled newts!
House Details
Juan Luis has renovated three of the village houses which his mother, Purita, manages as holiday houses. Two of the houses, El Mirador 1 and 2, are semi-detached and the third, El Nogal (the walnut tree), is set on its own at one end of the village. All three houses have two bedrooms, one double and one twin, with sofa/beds if needed. Living areas consist of kitchen/dining with space to relax in front of log fires and each house has balconies and its own patio area for dining outside.
In the village centre there's a walled in barbecue area for visitors and the houses share use of the swimming pool with the best view in Liébana.
Prices from €490 per week.
